Our striving readers and writers might enjoy doing blog work instead of the typical classroom lecture...
 

Our coaches could use blogs and wikis to communicate across the state to exchange strategies, confer about PLN projects, arrange for cross visitation among sites.
 

Since teachers have a difficult time to schedule meetings to discuss etc. we could set up a blog and discuss a book or article we have read.
 

Our teachers implementing PLN strategies can blog about their experiences in using
Collin's types of writing.
 

Next year during advisory students will be required to independently read a book. Students could be encouraged to blog about the book.
 

Blogs are wonderful tools for motivating students to read and write. We are thinking of numerous uses for blogs in our school. These would include book discussions, potentially creating an on-line commentary section for each class (sort of an e-newspaper), for example. Blogs provide lots of opportunities for practicing effective communication.
 

The implications for student engagement are enormous. Each student can respond and contribute on small or very expanded levels
